Karen and Erick, Civil Wedding in Siena

We are finally back but I wanted to stay in Italy forever! The people were wonderful, the food was yummy and the wine plentiful.

You may use my entire email or just select portions for your reference section. I would be happy to recommend you and your wonderful staff... feel free to give it to prospective brides that you are communicating with. I would love to brag about how wonderful you are....

GRAZIE - GRAZIE - GRAZIE

Our wedding and honeymoon was a fairytale come true.

I was so excited about going to the romantic country of Italy, staying in a medieval castle in the beautiful Tuscany countryside with family and friends (20), becoming a princess in my beautiful wedding dress and marrying my best friend in the beautiful Palazzo Comunale with a violinist playing, taking pictures in the Palazzo Publica and the breath-taking Piazza del Campo and then our dinner reception at Antica Osteria Da Divo in the private room down stairs that a long time ago was actually etruscan tombs carved from the tufa. Wow - I had a wonderful picture of what it was going to be like and it was going to be amazing... Well, you full-filled that dream but exceeded it beyond anything I could have ever imagined. It was the most magnificent day and I will remember it for the rest of my life.

There is a lot of paperwork but with your guidance through the process, the help of Daniela in Rome and Silvia in Siena made it so much easier for me.

Rome

When I was in the US Consulate in Rome I met a couple of brides-to-be and this was their second and third time they were there. Daniela knew the lady behind the counter and it was smooth sailing for Erick and I. Thank you so much.

Our wedding coordinator was a doll. Erick and I had to go to the local office in the Town hall on Monday (the day before our fairytale wedding). The coordinator met my mom, Erick and I for a 10am appointment and we had the documents approved, finalized and the paperwork was complete by 10:30. We wee taken upstairs to the room where we would be married and it was beautiful. The marble stairway leading us upstairs, the museum it was in, the Siena colored walls and the beautiful painting in the Palazzo Comunale, and the tall door way fit perfectly into my dream.

Photographer

We were really happy with him and he seemed to have a good eye. However, I will follow up after I get the pictures back.

The Magnificent Fairytale of a Wedding Day

I woke up in a castle and went into Siena with my Mom, Erick's Grandma and my maid-of-honor Irene. First stop was to met the hairdresser. We went to her shop for a trial run and I liked how she did my hair. They fixed my Mom's hair and she looked beautiful. Our little group checked into Hotel Athena because it was close to the piazza and made getting ready a breeze. We went to lunch and had some yummy pasta and vino rosso. We went back and hairdresser met us at the hotel. She did an amazing job on my hair and make-up. I was very happy with the results.

The flowers came and they were gorgeous - My bouquet was huge and beautiful and Irene's was just a beautiful but a little smaller. The corsages and boutonnieres looked gorgeous.

The Ceremony -

We got married in a museum not a town hall. The Palazzo Publico is gorgeous. The paintings, high ceilings. I was so happy walking down the aisle with my dad and being surrounded by so much beauty and history. The violinist was incredible. The official who performed the ceremony was so adorable. He made us feel very comfortable and he was so charming. The wording was perfect. Italian law regarding marriage is simple but it's the foundation of every health family. Your required and have a responsibility to take care of each other and the two of you have a responsibility for your children. Simple!

We had reserved a table at Enoteca i Terzi for our guest to do some wine tasting while we finished up on the pictures. When we came around the corner we saw everyone sitting outside. The wine bar was closed so our some of our group had gone over to the bar across the way and brought back drinks. It started to sprinkle so we all went to the bar across the way. It was sooooo much fun. It was small and cozy with brick walls and a jukebox so we had wine, beer, listened to music and visited with everyone as it rained for about a half hour. It was cozy and it ended being the perfect spot for our group and the owner of the bar was really sweet. This was better then our original plan - Things have a way of working out for the best! Silvia was so sweet. She told me if we needed anything else on our trip to feel free to call. Please let her know how thankful we are for all of her help.

Da Divo...GORGEOUS!!!!!! The owners were fantastic. They were so helpful, friendly and they went above and beyond anything I could have imagined. The room was beautifully set up. The cave like atmosphere made it so intimate. It was truly an experience of a lifetime. We went down the stairs and found this long table set with white linens and candles. The musicians played the perfect variety of music. The food was fantastic and each dish was as amazing as the last. Everyone was in awe of the presentation and the taste. We ate, drank, talked and danced for 4 - 4-1/2 hours. Nothing was rushed and we enjoyed every bite! We started with a warm pastry stuffed with cheese, spinach and pesto, then came gnocchi with leek on parmigiano cheese, then homemade pasta with wild boar sauce (unlike anything I have every tasted!), then steak with some type of herb sauce and rosemary potatoes (melted in your mouth). Incredible wine and champagne. It was the most amazing evening. Then came the cake...now, I new that we were going to have a cake but I thought it would be a simple (but pretty) one layer cake for our group of 20...no, it was a three layer beautifully decorated cake with fruit. It was the perfect fairytale!

I can't thank you enough for planning such a wonderful event.

Sorry the email is so long but it's been three weeks and I am still floating! Erick and I are so happy.

Thanks again, Karen

LATER:

Martina,
I AM SOOOOOOO HAPPY!!!!! I just received the photographs and they are amazing. He did a fabulous job. The receptionist call and told me I had a package from Italy. I was so excited that I ran up front and then I ran over to Erick's office (we work together). We relived the entire event and it was amazing.

Thanks...I will never forget how wonderful it was and I am so thankful to you.
